Jump! (composed for for a brass quintet of 2 trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba) is a short fanfare which was written in 2011 and first performed in June that year, from the parapet high above the roof of Harrogate’s Royal Hall, as part of the Harrogate International Festival. Hence the title was originally ‘Don’t Jump’ but I decided on the shorter version for regular ground-based concert performances.
