'Motion' is a single song based on a poem by Daniela Nunnari. The poem seems ambiguous: on the surface it might be an affectionate love poem, but there are also darker, potentially sinister undercurrents, so I chose to set the whole text twice, to re-tell the story with different meanings.
'Motion' was composed in 2013, commissioned by Late Music and is available in versions for mezzo soprano, tenor or baritone (as on this recording).
