Description
Metronome, for solo piano, was motivated by the graphic novel by Véronique Tanaka which has been described as 'a "silent", erotically-charged visual poem, an experimental non-linear story using a palette of iconic ligne clair images'. The stylisation and detachment and the use of repeated imagery in the graphic novel, suggested a clear, repeating musical line and the slow evolution of the structure, although there's no attempt to re-tell the novel's narrative in my music. 'Metronome' lasts for 5 minutes 50 seconds.
